4. PRINCIPLE of DEVICE OPERATION

4.1 Physiological effect of traveling pulsed magnetic field on human organism

The cumulative scientific material testifies that in a basis of a medical effect of magnetic fields is their ability both to control the flow of the charged particles and to make action on the magnetized bodies irrespective of a condition of their flow. As a result you can have a positive effect upon natural biological process resulting in intensi1~’ing of intracellular and intercellular metabolism. Thus magnetic field therapy is undeniably promotes the body’s own restorative function in the healing process by direct stimulation – without surgical intervention, without drugs, without side effect. Medical effect of magnetic field as compared both with static and alternating magnetic fields is mostly expressed in travelling pulsed magnetic field of ALMAG device. The travelling pulsed magnetic field of ALMAG, with the frequency of impulses coinciding with those of the biological active frequency of the person organism (from 4 to 16 Hz) is able to achieve the best therapeutic effect as compared to that of constant and variable magnetic field.

The unique design of ALMAG induction coils allows travelling impulsive magnetic field to penetrate deep into tissues of the patient to 8 cm, that is successfully applied for the treatment of diseases of the internal organs. The influence of strictly rhythmical travelling impulsive magnetic field produced by the device on the diseased organs of the human body makes a positive effect on your body finally stimulating dysfunction recovery.

Besides, under the influence of a magnetic field in a place of the device positioning there is the improvement of blood flow and oxygen supply leading to the reduction both of blood viscosity and accordingly the risk of formation of thromboses. The vessels lumen is enlarged, additional capillaries are opened and their permeability is improved. All this result in increase of blood supply in the affected area; cells oxygenation, immunoglobulin’s, building proteins provision; increase of capillary blood flow, improve of capillary tone and contractility as well as moving of inflammation products out. The activation of metabolism prevents the disease worsen progressively grow, increases the process of regeneration and metabolic activity, recovery and of the diseased cells. The application of low-frequency travelling pulsed magnetic fields to treat patients with different pathologies has a number of beneficial effects on your body:

– Stimulation the processes of nervous inhibition responsible for a sedative effect followed by emotional stress relief and sleep normalization;

– Cerebral vascular tone release, improvement of cerebral blood circulation, activation of nitrogenous and carbohydrate. Phosphoric metabolism increases cerebral hypoxia resistance;

– Systolic and diastolic pressure decrease down to normal values;

– Analgesic effect due to sensitivity reduction of peripheral nervous receptors;

– Training response and activity improvement of all endocrine systems;

– Increase of vascular and epithelial permeability which leads to accelerated resolution of edema and introduced medicinal agents;

– Metabolism improvement followed by attenuation of pathologic processes in the liver, heart and other organs;

– Increase of body resistance to unfavorable effects.

A low frequency travelling pulsed magnetic field due to the above curative effects has analgetic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edematous action and stimulates metabolic process. Immunocompetent organs (thymus gland, spleen lymph nodes, etc.) are especially sensitive to influence of low-frequency travelling pulsed magnetic field, increase of the number of leucocytes in the blood during the course treatment is the evidence of it. During the course of any disease treatment pulsed magnetic field makes influence on biologically active points all over the human body as a result the origination of reflex phenomena of muscles and inner organs connected to them. Course treatment with the help of ALMAG-01 due to the above curative effects results in smooth increase of the level of adaptation (the ability of human organism to withstand undesirable action of outdoor environment as well as its ability to self-healing) that in its turn is very actual for the treatment both acute and chronic diseases.

4.2 Arrangement of the device

MANUAL INSTRUCTION for ALMAG 01The Device consists of:

– An electronic unit (pulse generator) and of an exposure assembly unit comprising four connected inductors designed to make effect on separate diseased – cable of exposure assembly unit:

– the power cable: (l,2±0,l)m

The connections of all the separate units of the exposure assembly are flexible and permanent

Note: the first coil-inductor is that one being connected to the cable of electronic unit.

The electronic unit body is made of high impact polystyrene. There are two different color light indicators (LEDs) on the electronic unit body. The green light indicates that the device is plugged to the power supply mains.

Green color LTDsignaling the availability of magnetic field action. The former is connected with the timer and is disappeared after 22 minutes of operation. And at the same time the action of device is stopped.

Note: In order to activate the device running mode it is necessity to unplug the device from mains and then to plug it again in ten minutes break.

The blinking of green color LED in the center of each of four coils confirms availability of ALMAG serviceability. There is another means to check-up ALMAG device operating state, the indicator of a magnetic field is to be put on coils — inductors in turn. The presence of a pulse magnetic field will be followed with a blinking of a green bulb in the center of the indicator or by vibration of the indicator of a magnetic field (depending on kind of the inductor).

Both sides of the inductors are serviceable; therefore treatment can be carried out by the side which is most convenient

Due to high penetrating ability of a magnetic field of the device treatment can be carried out also through clothes, a dry or damp gauze bandage, ism thick plaster bandage.

Take notice. Because of magnetic induction value of ~ 6 mT the glowing of green light o in the center of inductor on the different surfaces of inductors may be different on the check of the device state of operability. This can reveal itself if we remove magnetic field inductor from the surface of Inductors.

THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURES

LOCOMOTOR SYSTEM DISEASES

OSTEOCHONDROSIS – is degenerative dystrophic disease characterized by a affection of inter-vertebral disks, osteo-copular structure of spinal column and nervous system. As a result of loss of inter-vertebral disks amortization properties there is pressing and deformation both of a nervous root, the vessel or a spinal cord that invokes pain sensations.

Spinal column consists of 33-34 vertebras, which constitute cervical, thoracic, lumber, sacral and coccygeal parts of spinal cord. Between vertebras are soppy cartilaginous tissues, so called disks, which serve as shock-absorbing padding. Next to each disk there is nervous root from spinal cord to that or another human body. Of the state of spinal cord nerves depends the normal functioning of all human organs and systems. If disk is in good condition (sound), it allows the vertebral segments to move easily, without nerve incarceration. With disks feeding disorder they are worn out, inter-disk pressure increases. With the time the near vertebras become so close to each other that touch and irritate nervous root when move. In the course of time there may appear the formation of intervertebral hernia.

The mostly affected parts of spinal cord are lumbar and cervical parts, rarely — thoracic part.

Symptoms:

The patients with lumbar affected part suffer from lumber region pain at physical tension, quick inconvenient movement, long tension state or getting cool. The patient also may feel pain in such organs as bowels, sex organs.

If cervical part is affected, not only nerve roots and their arteries are subjects to pressure, but the spinal cord and inter-vertebral arteries. This is revealed itself with neck, shoulder and back of the head pain, which may be spread to arm, shoulder blade and the front area of chest.

Osteochondrosis of thoracic part of spinal cord is revealed itself with spinal column pain, pain syndrome from the side of human internal organs (heart, stomach, lung, liver, kidneys, urinary bladder, and pancreas) and disorder of their function (dyskinesia). Very often osteochondrosis is complicated with neurological complication as a result of nerve ending pressing. At first the patient is prescribed with short-time bed rest within 2-3 days. With pain syndrome subside it is necessary to strengthen back muscle corset with the help of physical exercises. Magneto-therapy with the help of ALMAG-01 device is recommended to be carried out beginning with the first days of disease diagnosing.

Curative effect.

To make anti-inflammatory, anti-edema, anesthetizing action. Beside we have: the improvement of nerve endings conduction being pressed between vertebras resulting in recovery of the function of organs to which these nerve endings close come; Traveling pulsating magnetic field promotes the improvement of blood flow to the diseased area, increases metabolic activity in adjoin tissues leading both to disk tissue gradual recovery and normalization of its function.

Complex therapy, including magnetotherapy courses, physical exercisers, pharmacotherapy, restrains disease progressively worse thus making the patient status much better.

Procedure:

The most optimum time to carry procedure out is before going to bed as after procedure it is not recommended to give a load on a spinal column. In case of acute stage of disease when motion is difficult and the patient is forced to be in the lying position, procedures are carried out two times a day – in the morning and in the evening. The interval between procedures should be not less than 6 hours.Max. Procedure time is 15 minutes.

The patient is in lying position; the inductors are placed along the focus projection of the affected area of the spinal column. (see fig. 2).

The first procedure time for patients with chronic disease is 10 mm., with the further gradual rising up to 20 mm.

Maximum procedure time is up to 30 min.(osteoporosis complicated with neuritis). The course of treatment is 18 days, maximum —20 days (with chronic form of disease), minimum — 15 days. After 6th and 12th day of treatment course there is an one day interval. ALMAG-01 is indicated for acute osteochondrosis, complicated with neuritis. Procedures are taken once a day. The influenced parts are affected spinal column and then adjacent parts along the projection of affected nerves:

– Sciatic, tibia, fibular (see fig. 3);

– Radial, ulnar, median (see fig. 4).

Procedure time for osteochondrosis complicated with neuritis.

DEFORMING OSTEOARTHROSIS

Deforming osteoarthrosis – disease of joints of the dystrophic character. It is characterized by the affection of articulate cartilages and periarthric tissues.

The typical symptoms.

Disease is characterized by joints pain which is increased with the loading on the diseased joint and reduced in the state of rest; fractures; extremities accusations, more often, thigh bones (femurs), accompanying with joints inflammation, joint stiffness in the morning.Women above 40 years are more often suffer from osteoarthrosis.

Patients suffer from osteoarthrosis should avoid physical overloads and joins trauma. It is recommended to use the chairs with direct horizontal back, instead of soft armchairs, hard bed. Persons with overweight should change their diet Physiotherapy exercises, especially swimming, are of great importance for osteoarthrosis disease. Magnetotherapy by ALMAG-01 device takes one of leading role in complex treatment and disease prophylaxis.

Curative effect: Travelling pulsed magnetic field has positive anesthetizing action, removes an edema, improves metabolism in periarthric tissues, makes regenerating action on an articulate cartilage, that finally prevents disease progressively worse growth

Procedure:

It is very convenient to carry out treatment of joints due to the presence of four coils-inductors in the device. If burners!, ulnar, knee, hand and ankle joints are affected with osteoarthrosis the inductors are placed around a joint (wrapping it) (an example of treatment of a knee joint see on fig. 5)

If hip joint is affected the coil-inductors are placed so that the last inductor is to be placed on a buttock (back projection of a joint). Two middle coils are to be put on a lateral projection and the first one – on a forward projection of a joint (see fig. 6). Procedures time (see table 2).

The therapy with the help of ALMAG device is indicated for acute osteoarthrosis, complicated with neuritis. Procedures are to be carried out 2 times a day with an interval not less than 6 hours. If two or more joints are affected, procedures are to be carried out 2 times a day, one procedure for each joint For example, the treatment of the left arm (hand) joint is to be carried out in the morning in the evening. The total time of procedures a day should not exceed 30 minutes. Within course of treatment it is possible to cure not more than two joints. After the course of treatment it is necessary to make an 10 days interval and only after its expiration you can start the treatment of the other joints or disease.

There i~ another technique of treatment if two interfacing joints are affected. In this case the coils are placed along the extremity, covering both joints. Procedures are carried out 2 times a day. The first procedure time for patients with chronic disease is 10 mm., with the further gradual rising up to 20 mm.Max. total procedure time a day is 30 minutes (if procedures are carried out twice a day). Recommended course of treatment is 18 days, max.- 20 (for chronic disease), mm. —15. After 6th, 12th day you should do 1 day break. The scheme of a inductors location at simultaneous treatment of shoulder and elbow joints is given in a figure

It is not recommended to treat simultaneously two diseases for example, an arthrosis and an osteochondrosis within one course.

Repeated course of treatment is to be carried out in 30-40 days after the first one, and a supporting (prophylactic) course in 3-4 months after the termination of the second course.

Procedures time at a deforming osteoarthrosis (see table 2).

Symptoms: The most common symptom is pain at the site of the bursa and beyond. The pain may be a gradual buildup or sudden and severe, especially if calcium deposits are present. Loss of motion in the shoulder — called “adhesive capsulitis” or frozen shoulder-can also be a sign of bursitis.

ARTHRITISFS AND ARTHROSES OF VARIOUS JOINTS

SCAPULOHUMERAL PERIARTHROSIS

Scapulohumeral periarthrosis is characterized by pain and stuffiness in a shoulder joint related with different diseases such as: joint trauma, pancreatic diabetes, diseases of peripheral vessels, heart ischemic disease, bursitis, and periarthritis.

Symptoms with scapulohumeral periarthrosis: pain in the shoulder at movement increasing in the night time, asymmetric affection, thumb pressure tenderness.

Patient suffers from scapulohumeral periarthrosis should limit the load on the diseased joint and does regularly, even immediately after the taken magneto-therapy course, physical exercises.

Physical exercise No.1

Bend forward, the hands are freely falling down to the floor, this exercise allows the articular capsule to be relaxed under the action of its own weight

Physical exercise No.2.

Bend forward, the strong hand leans on the chair hack, the back has no any tension. Vertical fallen down diseased hand makes pendulum motion.It is better to take magneto-therapy with the help of ALMAG after physical exercises and joint heating with hot compress.

Curative effect:

Treatment procedures with travelling pulsed magnetic field have a number of positive effects: improvement both of blood micro-circulation and lymph drainage in the affected area, increase of capillaries permeability that, finally results in normalization of metabolic processes, improvement of a joint function, at least, slows disease progress.

Procedure:

Coil-inductors are placed round the affected zone, involving a joint and nearby tissues (see fig. 8). Procedures are to be carried out 1-2 times a day. If both humeral joints are affected with periarthrosis, it is recommended to carry out treatment of only one joint during one procedure and during the next -another.

The first procedure time for patients is 10 min., with the further gradual rising up to 20 min.Max. total procedure time a day is 30 minutes (if procedures are carried out twice a day).

Recommended course of treatment is 18 days, max. – 20 for chronic disease, rain. —15. Alter 6th, 12th day you should have 1 day break. If you take the second course of treatment, the first procedures time is 15 mm. The course of treatment is the same.

ARTHRITIS

Arthritis – an inflammation of a joint which arises first of all in internal synovial membrane of joint. Inflammatory process can affect the other structures of a joint, as well – a cartilage, joint capsule, periarthric tissues – ligaments, sinews.

Symptoms: the paint during active and passive movements, symmetric or asymmetric affection of the big or little joints depending on disease form, movement restriction (stiffness) , joint redness, its swelling, local or general rise of the temperature may also take place. It is very important to know that the treatment efficiency greatly depends on patient direct participation in treatment The main aim of the treatment is to preserve joint functional ability, not make the disease be worsen. The patient should right estimate all unfavorable factors — physical activity, overcooling and disease early symptoms, as rapid disability, weakness, and take the proper measures: to restrict activity on the affected joints, bed rest.

Curative effect:

ALMAG device is given the big role in prophylactics of relapses and supporting of a long remission. The treatment of the joint with the help of travelling pulsed magnetic field promotes the improvement of blood circulation, inflammation processes are relieved, the pain is decreased, the permeability of vascular walls is increased resulting in acceleration of edema decomposition. Normalization of metabolic activity in the diseased joint inhibits the further growth of disease worsen, promotes the joint functional recovery..

Procedure:

Inductors are placed around or along the affected joint, involving nearby tissues. The scheme of coils inductors location at treatment of arthritis of a knee joint is shown on fig. 5.Procedures are to be carried out 2 times a day. The scheme of coils inductors location at treatment of arthritis of a elbow joint is shown on fig. 9.

If several joints are affected with arthritis (for example, hip joint and elbow joint) you should use the method “one procedure — one joint”. So during one treatment course you can treat not more than two joints a day. The interval between two procedures is to be not less than 6 hours. You can treat the other joints in 10 day after the first treatment course termination.

If two adjacent joints (for example, hip and knee joints or shoulder and elbow joints) are affected (diseased), inductors are placed along extremities, covering affected joints.

So this scheme allows treating two adjacent joints at the same time for the light and meaning forms of disease. Procedure time should not exceed 15 minutes. The course of treatment is 18 days.

EPICONDYLiTIS

Epicondylitis – an inflammation of tendon tissues in a place of their fixation to a bone. It arises from micro traumas, joint inflammation and motor activity. Mainly physical labor workers, agricultural workers and sportsmen are suffered from this disease.

Symptoms:

pain in joint at movement and at palpation along affected tendon. Epicondylitis of elbow joint tendon can be followed with elbow nerve neuritis. And when heel tendon is affected there is pain in the heel when we tread (walk) (see fig. 10).

Shoulder Epicondylitis — chronic, dystrophic affection of inside and outside shoulder epicondylitis as a result of repeated stereotype movement of forearm, sport trauma, neck osteochondrosis.

Symptoms:

Clinically epicondylitis is characterized with a pain of different intensity in the area of affected epicondyle which is felt to corresponding surface of forearm and intensified at palpation. At the beginning of the disease the rest in the affected joint is recommended for some days.

Curative effect:

Among physiotherapeutic procedures magneto-therapy being carried out with the help of ALMAG, device takes the important place. Under the influence of the travelling pulsed magnetic field the pain subsides, edema resolves, the local blood-groove improves, the metabolism is normalized, muscles spasm of extension and flexion hand decreases. All this results in decrease of an inflammation and acceleration of joint restorative function.

Treatment procedures:

Procedures are carried out 2 times a day. Coils-inductors are placed around affected joint (for example, procedures for treatment of knee-joint epicondylitis)
The scheme of treatment of elbow joint sinew complicated with a neuritis of an elbow nerve is as follows:
1. Procedure is carried out in a lying position;
2. ALMAG is placed parallel to the body;
3. The patient puts his ill hand with palm up along the body;
4. The first coil-inductor is put on the elbow joint, the second-on elbow fold. That is 2 coils-inductors covering a joint from two sides;
5. Other two inductors have to be put on an internal surface of a shoulder towards an armpit crease.
At shoulder joint epicondylitis it is necessary to influence two areas alternatively with the purpose to rise treatment efficiency:
Procedure №1: Inductors are placed along cervical and thoracal areas of a backbone, covering the 5th-10th centimeter zone along both sides of a spine column. Procedure time 5 minutes.
Procedure №2: Inductors are placed on the affected epicondyle of a shoulder joint and the starting area of muscles fixed to it. Procedure time 15 min.
Procedures are conducted consecutively, desirable in the end of the day in order to reduce load on the hand after the procedure. Course of treatment is minimum 18 days.
The scheme of treatment of affected Achilles (heel) tendons is as follows:
1. Place inductor circuit to the floor, places the sole your foot on two first inductors so that the heel is in the center of the second inductor
2. Other two inductors are placed along the rear part of the shin (projection of tendon) and the bottom part of gastrocnemius muscle and are fixed with the fastening (see fig. 10)

Duration of treatment during the first 3 days of treatment is 15 minutes, following days it increases to 20 minutes – once a the day. Course of treatment – 18 days. The repeated course of treatment if necessary is conducted in 2 months.

GOUT

Gout – is the variety of the rheumatic disease of joints, which is caused by the deposit of salts of uric acid (urates). The Gout affects any joints: finger, wrists, elbows, knees, the soles. Most frequently the gout affects toe joints. Disease usually is manifested after 40 years in men and after menopause in the women.

Within the standard the uric acid, which is been the end product of the vital activity of cells, falls into the plasma of the blood and is derived by kidneys with the urine. In certain cases the concentration of uric acid in the plasma can considerably increase.

This occurs as a result the kidney deficiency or the increased formation of uric acid in the cells. Excess quantities of acid can be crystallized and be put aside in the joints, which causes inflammation and severe pain. The intensity of the disease begins suddenly and it continues several days, varying in the intensity.

Procedure of treatment in the period of acute disease form.

Taking into the account the fact that any touch to the struck joint during a pain attack causes the unbearable pain, treatment with the help of ALMAG is conducted without the contact of Inductors with the joint. Coils are taken into the hands and retain at a distance 1-2 centimeters above the struck joint. Procedure duration – 10 minutes.

Conducting procedure with the calming of the painful syndrome.

ALMAG is put directly on a joint. The coils are placed around a joint when we treat knee, foot, elbow and hand joints. At the affection of foot finger joints, coils are placed on the floor, then we put our your feet on them; the heel is placed on the first inductor, the toes should be on the second inductor, the top of the foot should be covered with the third and fourth inductors seizing lower part of shin. Procedure time-15 min, twice a day. General course of treatment is 21 days. The repeated course should be carried out in 30-40 days after the termination of the first, and the prophylactic (supporting) one, 3-4 months after the second treatment.

BURSITIS

BURSITIS– is the inflammation of one or more bursa (small sacs) of synovial fluid in the body. It arises as a result of joints trauma, high physical activity, as well as aftereffect arthritis illness and some other infection diseases. There are distinguished acute and chronic bursitis.

In the case of sharp or aggravated chronic bursitis the treatment by ALMAG begins after the sharp pain subsides (usually on 3-7 day) With chronic clinical course-in the stage of disease remission. The purpose of treatment with the help of ALMAG is to relieve pain symptoms; to stop inflammatory process restoration of joint function. Under the action of travelling pulsed magnetic field of the device there is improvement of a blood supply to bursa and adjoin tissues, normalization of metabolic process, the acceleration of the edema resorption, decrease of inflammation. Treatment results in recovery or at least slowing of chronic disease further progress, remission period extension.

Procedure:

The presence of four coils in the device makes the treatment greatly easy and handy. If bursitis strikes shoulder elbow, knee, foot and hand joints, the coils are imposed around a joint as through winding it. At the affection of hip joint, coils are placed so that last inductor is located on the buttock, on the rear projection of a joint, and the first one-on the front projection of a joint.

Procedures are recommended to carry out 2 times a day, with an interval not less than 6 hours. If two joints or more are affected with bursitis, procedures are to be carried out 2 times a day, one time per joint (for example, one joint in the morning and one in the evening) Total time not exceeding 20 minutes Within one course of treatment it is allowed to treat no more than two joints. After a course termination it is necessary to have 10 days break.

It is possible to use another technique of treatment of adjacent joints (for example, shoulder and elbow joints). In this case the coils are placed along an extremity touching both joints by edges. Procedures can be carried out 2 times a day, one procedure on each group of adjacent joints.

The first course of treatment should be started with min. time duration-10 minutes gradually raising it up to 2- min. Maximum total procedure time is 30 minutes (when procedures are carried out twice a day). Recommended course of treatment is 18 days, maximum-20 (with chronic clinic course of disease), and minimum 15 min. One day break is to be done after 6th and 12th day of treatment. Repeated course of treatment is taken in 30-40 days after the termination of the first one, prophylactic course is in 3-4 months after the termination of the second course.

MYOSITIS

MYOSITIS is an inflammation or swelling of the muscles, often caused by injury, infection, or an autoimmune disorder.

Symptoms:

aching pain in muscle of arms, legs, body which is increased at movement (motion). Affected muscles are swollen, their strength is reduced. Sometimes the disease is accompanied with a chill, rise in body temperature reduced ability to move the joint. It is typical of myositis the sensation of pain at muscles palpation, the availability of painful small knots.

Under the complex treatment you should strictly keep regimen of movement activity, to avoid the overcooling.

Curative effect:

Travelling pulsed magnetic field of ALMAG has a beneficial effect on diseases clinical course: anti-edema action, improvement of the tissue feeding and remove of inflammation product, stimulation of regeneration process. Procedures are indicated in complex with anti-inflammation medicaments for external application.

Procedure:

Coils of ALMAG device are placed along the effected muscles of the back, belly cavity, the upper or lower extremities. If bodies muscles are effected inductors are put down on the couch, the patient is lying on them, so that the inductors were spread along affected zone. If muscles of upper or lower extremities are affected inductors are located along affected muscles and adjacent tissues. The location of ALMAG on the back muscles myositis (see fig. 11)

Procedures are carried out twice a day. Procedure time is 10-15 min. The course of treatment is 10-12 days.

LOCOMOTOR SYSTEM INJURIES

BONE FRACTURES

Fracture-infringement of bone tissue structure integrity. Fracture can be closed, open, with displacement and without it.

It is recommended to start treating traumas on the 3rd day from the moment of trauma in medical institution in the case of compound fracture or in home conditions.

Curative effect of the device use:

resorption of the tissue edema, improvement of blood circulation, speeds up bone tissues regeneration. Application of the device considerably speeds up the time of fracture treatment, reduces the rehabilitation period, promotes formation of callus, and increases adjacent tissue strength. Due to well-timed application of ALMAG, the muscular spastic structure is decreased, the muscle atrophy and rigidity in the joints is prevented, and functions of vegetative nervous system are normalized.

Note: placement of metal rods or plates used to combine fragments is not the contraindication to ALMAG application.

Procedure:

Coils are put on a plaster bandage or directly on an extremity or around the bone (fig. 12) Procedure should be carried out two times a day.

Procedure time is 10-15 min. The course of treatment is 18 days.

In case of compound fracture demanding bone stretching procedure and an immobilization, repeated course of treatment is carried out in 30-40 days.

If the patient is a child at the age of 2-5 years old, the procedure time is reduced to a ¼ of the procedure time for the adult. If the child is older the 5 the procedure is the same as for an adult.

The device can be used to carry out short-time course to treat pain syndrome appearing in the area of healed fracture within the time of weather change. The course of treatment includes 7-8 procedures. Procedure time is 15-20 minutes.

INTERNAL JOINT TRAUMAS

INTERNAL JOINT TRAUMAS– the traumatic damage of joint without the disturbance of the integrity of the periarticular capsule. Treatment with ALMAG is to be started on the 3rd day from the day of trauma.

Curative effect: rapid reduction of tissue edemas, acceleration of accumulated liquid and blood resorption out of the joint cavity increase of metabolic activity in the influenced area due to the improvement of blood flow results in regeneration of joint tissues. The treatment with the help of the device reduces the possibility of the formation of contraction (joint mobility restriction)

Procedure:

Coils are placed around of the affected joint (for example, treatment of a knee joint, see fig. 5). If two interfacing joints are injured (for example, shoulder and elbow), inductors are placed along arm covering these joints.

Procedures are to be carried out 2 times a day.

Procedure time is 10-15 min. The course of treatment is 18 days.

In case trauma demands joint immobilization, the prophylactic course of treatment is carried out in 30-40 days.

WOUNDS, THE INJURY OF SOFT TISSUES, HEMATOMA, POST-TRAUMATIC EDEMA

The treatment with the help of ALMAG is to be started 12 hours after the trauma occurs.

Curative effect: Under the influence of magnetic field there is increase of capillary permeability, including lymphatic ones, rapid edema resorption. Decrease of blood coagulability in the influenced area leads to resorption of hematoma (bruise). Sensitivity in the nerve ends reduces and the pain calms down.

Procedure:

The procedure time is 10-15 minutes, twice a day. The coils are placed along or around the lesion focus. If the trauma is trivial (not large), the course of treatment is limited up to 6-12 procedures.

LIGAMENT AND MUSCLE INJURIES

Symptoms: the presence of haematoma, edema, restriction of movement in the joint because of the intensive paint.

Curative effect: ALMAG device is applied on the second or third day after rendering medical care, if there are stitches put in injured ligament or muscle. Procedure can be done through dressing, even though plaster bandage. The depth of travelling pulsed magnetic field penetration of ALMAG device is enough to make required curative effect to the effected organ, besides it makes anesthetic effect; it reduces edemas, speeds up tissues regeneration and promotes joint function recovery.

Procedure:

Coils are placed around the injured joint. Treatment is to be started during the first hours of trauma occurrence. It is recommended to apply cold for 20 minutes to the joint, and then you may start magneto-therapy. The joint is wrapped with the device. Procedure time-15 min. The first 3 days the procedures are carried out twice a day.

POSTOPERATIVE WOUNDS

The curative effect of the travelling pulsed magnetic field influences the wounded surface, results in reduction in healing time and a hardly noticeable scar. The application of the device after an operation prevents the development of different complications and reduces the probability of herniation.

Procedure:

Treatment is to be started on the 3rd-5th days from the day of operation. The procedure is made on an area of a wound through both-gauze (after wound treatment) or a plaster bandage. Under the influence of magnetic field the action of the applied ointment is increased that greatly benefits healing proves. The coils are placed along or round the lesion focus. The procedure time is 15 min., once a day. The course of treatment is 7-18 days.

KELOID CICATRIX

Keloid Cicatrix (scar)– excess scar formation secondary to traumatic or surgical injuries can have devastating consequences, ranging from body disfigurement to organ dysfunction. Hypertrophic scars and keloids are skin fibrotic conditions that can be caused by minor insults to skin, such as acne or ear piercing, by severe injuries such as burns or growth of a connective tissue as a tumor after an operation.

Treatment of keloids cicatrices by ALMAG should be started on the 3rg-5th day after the operation or a trauma occurs. In case if keloid scar has been already formed, the long-time and complex therapy is required, so ALMAG is applied in complex with medicinal agents and other physiotherapeutic procedures. ALMAG’s magnetic field stimulates metabolism, renders anesthetizing, resorption actions, promotes keloid softening and restoration of cicatrix elasticity.

The good therapeutic effect actions, is reached by the application of ALMAG together with the prescription medicaments as it strengthens their effect.

Procedure:

Treatment is to be started at maximum early period of cicatrix formation. The coil is imposed on an area of cicatrix. Procedure time is 15 minutes, once a day. The course of treatment is 7-18 days.

POORLY HEALING PURULENT WOUNDS, PHLEGMONS, BURNS

The pieces of clothing and other foreign bodies and bodies can enter the wound during an injury. Under the conditions, favorable for the development in the wound of pathogenic flora and propagation of the infection into the surrounding tissue, results in the complications in healing process of the wound, including purulent complication that result in suppurative complication as phlegmons.

Phlegmon is an acute generalized suppurative inflammation of soft tissues and when suppurative fluid is spread along the cellular area. Phlegmon appears as a result of bacterium penetration in the soft tissues and can be developed practically in any part of human body. Burns may be thermal, electric chemical and radial. ALMAG is applied mainly to treat thermal burns after-effects.

Treatment of purulent wounds, phlegmons and burns by device ALMAG is to be started after carrying out all surgical actions, wound treatments with antibiotics and antiseptics and other medicinal preparations.

Magnetotherapy should be prescribed by the attending physician.

The running pulsed magnetic field stimulates regeneration of the injured tissues and cells due to improvement of blood circulation and metabolism, decreases pain symptoms, speeds up processes of circularization, and thus greatly facilitates healing.

Procedure:

coils are imposed over a wet or dry gauze bandage along or around affected area (after would treatment). Procedure time is 10-15 minutes once a day. The course of treatment depending on the burn degree is 10-18 days. It’s recommended to repeat magneto-therapy with the help of ALMAG especially in severe cases in 30-40 days. ALMAG minimizes the cosmetic defects after a wound or a burn.

DISEASES OF PERIPHERIC NERVOUS SYSTEM

NEURITIS is an inflammation of the peripheral nerve revealing itself in various motion and sensitivity disorders. The device ALMAG is applied for local neuritis with symptoms such as dull pains, which are paroxysmally extended on the motion of nerve, disturbances of sensitivity and engine disorders, small decrease of volume and mass of muscles (atrophy) in the struck region. Recovery process takes about 2-3 weeks but more often lasts a longer period of time, especially in the elderly group.

Procedure:

The device is placed that the first inductor would be located to the zone, nearest to the spine, and the last inductor – to the most distant The first course of treatment is to be started with the minimum 10 min. duration gradually raising it up to 20 min. If it is required to influence two areas, the time of healing is divided into two and the procedure time is raised up to 30 min. (when procedures are carried out twice a day) Recommended course of treatment is 18 days, maximum is 20 (with chronic clinical course of diseases), minimum-15. After 6th and 12th days of treatment 1 day is needed. The time of the first procedure is 15 min. at the repeated course of treatment. The course of treatment is the same.

FACIAL NERVE NEURITIS

This is more frequently spread disease. The cause overcooling, infection, intoxication, trauma.

Curative effect of device ALMAG is to improve anti-inflammatory effect of complex therapy, to activate both blood circulation and lymph outflow in the facial area, to promote improvement of the facial nerve condition, to restore function of mimic muscles, to avoid the formation of muscular contracture (firm restriction of mobility). In acute stages of disease process, ALMAG device is applied only under the prescription of the attending physician.

Procedure:

The inductors are placed without strong pressing on a point of a facial nerve output. The point of a facial nerve output is under an auricle at the lower jaw base (see fig. 13). Area of a facial nerve output is influenced first, then the contracture zone. The rest three inductors that are not being involved in the process of treatment are put aside.

RADIAL NERVE NEURITIS

The redial nerve is mainly affected in the middle part of the shoulder area if it was fractured or during deep sleep.

Curative effect of the device ALMAG is to speed up the recovery of the redial nerve conductivity, to reduce degree of muscle atrophy, to improve blood supply of tissue in a zone of redial nerve innervations and to restore function of hand movement.

Procedure:

Inductors are placed on an internal surface of the lower third part of the shoulder, forearm and hand according to the following diagram (fig.14):

1) The patient’s position-lying down;

2) The hand is placed with palm upward and the inductors are placed on top;

3) The first inductor covers the lower third part of the shoulder and get fixed with an elastic band which is included in the complete set of the device (fig/14);

4) The third inductor is placed on an area between the palm and the elbow fossa, the fourth one is placed on the palm.

NEURITIS OF THE ULNAR NERVE

The cause injury in the area of the elbow joint or infection.

The aim of magneto-therapy with the help of ALMAG is the same as for redial nerve neuritis. The device is placed so that the first inductor is on the area close to the vertebral column and the last one is on the far located area.

MEDIAN NERVE NEURITIS

Curative effect is to speed up the recovery of median nerve conductivity, to reduce the degree of muscle atrophy, improve tissue blood supply in the median nerve area innervations and to restore the function of the hand extensor.

Procedure:

Inductors are placed on the inner surface of the shoulder (along the nerve trunk) figure 15.

SCIATIC NERVE NEURITIS (SCIATICA)

Sciatica is the inflammation of the sciatic nerve.

Symptoms:

Pain in the rear or leg that is worse when sitting. Burning or tingling down the leg, weakness, numbness or difficulty moving the leg or foot, a constant pain on one side of the rear or a shooting pain that makes it difficult to stand up.

Curative effect: to make sedating effect, anti-edematous and anti-inflammatory action both on sciatic nerve and adjacent tissue, to reduce vascular and muscle spasm and to normalize blood circulation, tonus and metabolism.

Procedure:

Treatment is to be started in the sub-acute period. The first two inductors are placed from both sides of a lumbosacral part of backbone (paravertebral). Then along the nerve on the back surface of the hip and the shin (see fig. 3) Procedure time is 15 minutes. Recommended course of treatment is 18 days. Maximum time is 20 days (with chronic clinical course of disease), and minimum 15 days. One day interval needs to be done after the 6th and 12th days of treatment. During bilateral ischias (injury of two extremities) treatment procedure is carried out in turns and procedure time is 15 minutes. Procedures are carried out once a day, best time at night. The course of treatment is 18 days.

PERONEAL NEURITIS

Peroneal neuritis may be cause during traumas, different infections and intoxication.

The travelling pulsed magnetic field produces soothing, anti-edema and anti-inflammatory effects on peroneal nerve; it reduces the vascular and muscular spasms, normalizes blood circulation, tone and metabolism in tissues.

Procedure:

Treatment is to be carried out during the sub-acute period and when the pain subsides. For convenience procedure is recommended to be carried out while lying on your stomach. The first inductor is placed on the top part of the popliteal space, and other three are placed on the shins external surface of the affected area. (See fig. 16)

You can sit down during the procedure. One inductor is placed on the chairs edge and pressed with the affected leg. The rest three inductors are placed on the external surface of the lower part of the leg and fixed with an elastic tape. The treatment is to be started with the minimal duration of 10 minutes gradually raising it up to 20 minutes. If it’s necessary to influence two zones, the procedure time is divided into two and the procedures are to be carried out in turns without intervals between them. Maximum total procedure time is 30 min, twice a day.

Recommended course of treatment is 18 days, maximum-20 (with chronic clinical course of disease) and minimum-15 days. One day interval is to be taken after 6th and 12th day.

PLEXITIS

Plexitis – damage of a nervous plexus. The cause of plexitis could be infection, trauma or intoxication. Among plexuses the most common ones are brachial (shoulder) and lumbosacral plexitis.

There are distinguished neurologic (starting) and paralytic (late) clinical stages of the disease. Neurologic disease clinical course reveals itself with spontaneous pain and painful sensations arising and growing at movement, pressure on the plexus, its fascicles and its outside nerves. Paralytic clinical stage is characterized by atonic paralysis, reduction or absence of sensitivity, vegeto-trophic disorders in the innervations zone of plexus affected part.

When the whole plexus is injured there is pain in the supraclavicular and clavicular areas which are felt in the hand. As a result we have arm muscle paresis.

Curative effect: to make anti-inflammatory action in the area of nerve plexus projection; recovery of both, nerve-muscle system conductivity in the zone of lesion focus and function of affected muscle paresis.

Procedure:

Procedure is carried out lying on the back, but it is also possible to do it while sitting down. The first and the second Almag 01 inductors are placed on the area of the collar bone and shoulder plexus (a projection of a shoulder plexus). The third and the fourth are placed along the internal side of the arm affected by plexitis.

Procedure time is 15 minutes. The course of treatment is 18 days, maximum 20 (with chronic clinical course of the disease), and minimum-15 days. One day interval is needed after 6th and 12th days.

In case of bilateral plexitis, procedures are carried out in turns. Procedure time is 15 minutes for one side once a day. Best time to do the procedure is in the evening.

Lumbosacral plexus is mostly the result of traumas (plexus gunshot wound, squeezing by the bone fragments at both spine fracture and the hip bones etc.), new formation of abdominal cavity organs or gynecological diseases. The treatment procedures of lumbosacral plexus is the same as for peroneal nerve neuritis.

NEURALGIA

Neuralgia is a burning and shooting pain arising and spreading along the nerve trunk and its branches and being localized in the zone of certain nerves or nerve roots. Neuralgia can arise as a result of trauma, intoxication, stipulated by the liver or kidney diseases, malignant growth, salts of heavy metals, bacterial toxins, alcohol, metabolic disorders of diabetes mellitus or chronic processes in gastrointestinal tract etc.

Device ALMAG is approved for trigeminal nerve neuralgia, cervical nerve and intercostals neuralgia.

TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA

Symptoms: acute burning and shooting pain in the cheek, upper and lower jaws, and in rare cases in the frontal bone. Usually the pain could last from seconds to several hours.

The treatment with ALMAG is done to relief the pain syndrome and to eliminate the disease causes. The travelling pulsed magnetic field is directed for reduction sensitivity in nervous receptors, improvement of blood circulation to the effected nerve branches, resulting in the relief of pain sensations and duration and frequency of pain. The device has anti-inflammatory, vasodilating affect. Application of the device in complex treatment preparations considerably increases medical effect.

Procedure:

The first inductor is placed on the affected part of the face covering cheeks and the base of jaw bone. The rest of the inductors are put on the collar zone (see fig.18). The first procedure time is minimum 10 minutes gradually raising it up to 15 minutes within 5 days.

If it is necessary to make the influence of two zones, procedure time is divided into two and the procedures are to be carried out in turns without intervals between them. Maximum total procedure time a day is 30 minutes.

Recommended course of treatment is 18 days, minimum 15 days. One day interval is to be taken after 6th and 12th days.

OCCIPITAL NEURALGIA

Inductors are placed on a projection of a point of an occipital nerve output and a back part of the neck (see fig. 19).

The first procedure time is minimum 10 minutes gradually raising it up to 15 minutes within 5 days period. Maximum procedure time is 30 minutes, twice a day.

Recommended course of treatment is 18 days and minimum 15 days. One day interval is to be taken after the 6th and 12th days.

INTERCOSTAL NEURALGIA

Intercostal neuralgia symptoms: persistent or colicky belting pain spreading from the spinal bone to the chest or the middle line of belly. The pain is increasing with physical activity, body movement, cough, sneezing or deep breath. Curative effect is directed to elimination of the proximate cause of disease and rapid relief of pain syndrome.

ALMAG raises the complex therapy efficiency. The big advantage of magnetotherapy is practically complete absence of the side effects, good tolerance of the magnetic field by patients when the other physiotherapeutic procedures can be counter-indicated for them.

Procedure:

ALMAG is placed bilaterally on a corresponding segment of a backbone along the affected nerve endings see fig.20).

The first procedure time is 15 minutes gradually raising it up to 20 minutes within 5 days period. Maximum total procedure time a day is 30 minutes (if the procedures are carried out twice a day). Recommended course of treatment is 18 days, minimum 15 days. One day interval is to be taken after 6th and 12th days.

INJURIES OF THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM

TRAUMAS OF THE SPINAL CORD AND THE VERTEBRAL COLUMN

The injuries of spine and spinal cord are very dangerous, since they can lead to the disturbances of the functions of many organs and systems of organism, and even to complete paralysis. The ends (rootlets) of the nerves, which innervate different organs, are concentrated on the spinal cord. So if lumbar spine is affected you can feel the pain in your bowels or genital organs. With spinal column trauma, there are may be ruptured blood and lymphatic vessels resulting in both spinal cord and spinal nerves condition worsening, disorders of nerve conductivity that makes it difficult to perform their function.

Magneto-therapy by the ALMAG, if there are no contraindications, is to be started after carrying out of all urgent medical necessities. The magnetic field makes anesthetizing, anti-inflammatory, anti-edema effects, stimulates the metabolism and tissue regeneration. Besides that magnetic field promotes to grow of nervous pulses transit, it also activated the work of immune-competent bodies and increases host defenses.

Procedure:

Position of the patient lying down on the stomach. Inductors are placed along the spine column. If it is not possible for any reason to turn the patient over, slightly lift him and place the inductors under the affected area of the spine column so that the first inductor is close to the head and one of the inductors on directly on the injured part. The treatment is to be started with a 15 minute procedure, gradually rising it within 5 days up to 20 minutes.

Maximum total procedure duration time a day is 30 minutes (if procedures are taken twice a day). Recommended course of treatment is 18 days, minimum-15 days. One day interval is to be taken after 6th and 12th days of treatment.

CEREBROSPINAL BLOOD CIRCULATION DISORDERS

Spinal cord is supplied with blood from arteries. The front and two back spinal arteries come down to the lower end of the spinal cord are recharged by the spinal branches of other arteries that come into spinal cord through intervertebral foramina. That foramen is formed between two adjacent vertebras. When intervertebral disks are affected (osteochondrosis), the intervertebral foramen grows narrow, closed adjacent vertebras traumatize the nervous endings and press on blood vessels. The disease power leads to the onset of ischemic zones (the lack of blood circulation) in different spinal column parts. There appear osteophytes in the cervical spine resulting in chronic disorder of spinal circulation (myelopathy).

Curative Effect:

In a complex of medical manipulations ALMAG’s pulsed magnetotherapy has big efficiency. The influence of travelling pulsed magnetic field promotes both the opening of the additional capillaries, improvement of blood circulation and partly compensates inadequate blood supply in area of spinal cord. The treatment by the device, along with medicamental therapy, reduces or completely stops disease progression, promotes normalization of both spinal cord and spinal nerve functions.

Procedure:

Position the patient lying down on the stomach. Inductors are placed along the spine column covering the cervical part. If it is impossible to lay the patient on the stomach, the patient is slightly lifted and inductors are put under the backbone.

The treatment is to be started with a 15 minute procedure, gradually rising it within 5 days up to 20 minutes.

Maximum total procedure time a day is 30 minutes if procedures are taken twice a day. Recommended course of treatment is 18 days, minimum-15 days. One day interval is to be taken after the 6th and 12th days of treatment. The course of treatment is to be repeated in 2 months.

BRAIN VASCULAR DISEASE

ISCHEMIC CEREBRAL STROKE

The stroke (disorder of a cerebral blood circulation) may be hemorrhagic and ischemic. Form of stroke in which there is bleeding from a blood vessel in the brain into the surrounding tissue. It is usually caused by arteriosclerosis and high blood pressure. Symptoms may vary from temporary numbness and weakness down one side of the body to deep coma. A major haemorrhage may be fatal. There is a high risk of repeated strokes.

The use of device ALMAG is CONTRO-INDICATED during the treatment of hemorrhagic stroke since it may provoke bleeding.

Ischemic stroke is caused when an artery to the brain is blocked. Ischemic stroke can be caused by several different kinds of diseases. The most common problem is narrowing of the arteries in the neck or head. This is most often caused atherosclerosis, or gradual cholesterol deposition. If the arteries become too narrow, blood cells may collect and form blood clots.

People suffering from vessel diseases should be very careful: it is necessary to regularly measure blood pressure, the level of cholesterol and sugar in blood.

Symptoms:

-severe headaches (especially in the evenings) usually followed by feeling sick and vomiting;

-dizziness;

-sleepiness.

As a result of bad blood flow, different areas of central nervous system are affected. The symptoms depend on the side of the brain that’s affected, the part of the brain, and how severely the brain is injured. Person might have numbness of the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body, trouble seeing in one or both eyes, loss of balance or coordination.

Curative Effect:

ALMAG is applied after an insult as for prophylactic purpose and to treat the ischemic insults aftereffects after doctor’s advice. Pulsed magnetic field has hypotensive (decreasing arterial blood pressure) and hypocoagulatory (reduction of blood viscosity) actions, the application of ALMAG device reduces stroke risk and allows to shorten rehabilitation period.

The treatment of ischemic insult aftereffects with the help of ALMAG is to be carried out only under the supervision of the attending physician which will define the time of treatment.

Procedure for ischemic stroke and brain vascular disease:

Position of patient – lying on the back.

The first stage of treatment. Inductors are laid under a collar zone (see fig. 21). Procedures are carried out 1-2 times a day depending on the patient’s state and reaction of the body to the effect of the magnetic field. Arterial pressure is to be monitored before and after procedures.

Time of the first 3-6 procedures is 10 minutes gradually rising it up to 20 minutes. One day interval is to be taken after 6th and 12th days.

In the presence of paralysis the second course of treatment is to be taken in 10 days after the first one. The action on the spine column (the first inductor is to be on the cervical spine zone, the rest are placed lower) is 5-10 minutes and on the paralyzed extremities (leg and/or hand) is 5-10 minutes on each extremity.

Repeat the treatment course after 2 months.

In case of vascular brain disease the treatment is carried out according to the first part of treatment of ischemic cerebral stroke.

CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM DISEASE

HYPERTENSION I-II STAGE

Hypertension disease is a constant increase in arterial pressure. The factors promoting the development of the disease are:

– Inheritance;

– Excess body weight;

-Alcohol abuse;

-Increased salt intake

-Psychosocial stress

-Lack of physical activity

At present there are the following classifications of hypertension disease according to the value of arterial pressure:

Curative Effect:

The influence of the travelling pulsed magnetic field produced by ALMAG device on a collar zone results in vasodilatation of vessels, reduction of peripheral resistance that reduces the arterial pressure. At the same time there’s reduction in frequency of heart contractions and contractile heart muscle function which clearly proves the positive effect of travelling pulsed magnetic field on hearts ability to pump blood.

Under the influence of the device on the collar zone and the projection of adrenal glands there is increase of endocrine system activity that promotes the production of hormones and enzymes; the improvement of both, the cerebra blood circulation and brain metabolism. Also, there is increase in brain stability to low oxygen content. This is especially usual for patients who not only suffer from idiopathic hypertension disease, but also experienced an ischemic insult as well. Magnetic field stimulates processes of nerve system inhibition, has the positive effect on sleep and relieves emotional stress. In connection with this ALMAG is recommended during psycho emotional stress.

The procedure carried out with ALMAG is effective for all stages of hypertension disease and allows lowering the dose of medicine intake without the risk of arterial pressure increase (ONLY UNDER DOCTORS SUPERVISION)

Procedure:

Treatments of hypertension, Stage I, inductors are placed on a collar zone (see fig. 21). The patient is in a sitting or lying position depending on his state of health and body reaction to magnetic field. In case of arterial pressure increase at the certain time of the day, the procedures are to be taken 1-1 ½ hours before its time. The arterial pressure is to be checked before and after procedures. The time of first 3-6 procedures is 10 minutes gradually increasing it up to 20 minutes. Course of treatment is 18-20 procedures. After the 6th and 12th procedures it is necessary to take 1 day break.

Treatment of Stage II hypertension, the effect (action) is carried out not only on a collar zone, but also on the adrenal glands area (see fig.22). Procedure time is 10 minutes.

With the purpose of keeping record of treatment efficiency, you should check the arterial pressure 30 minutes prior to the procedure and 30 minutes after.

With a steadfast pressure decrease one should consult with the doctor in attendance about possible reduction in the dose of the medicines adopted.

As a rule, after the first course of the treatment of a substantial improvement in the state it is not observed; therefore in 30 days one should conduct repeated course. Subsequently the interruptions between the courses increase to 2-3 months. Those, who suffer hypertonic disease, one should forego the smoking, the method of alcohol. By patients with the excess mass of body, which leads the low-mobility means of life, it should be observed diet and been occupied by gymnastics.

RENAL HYPERTENSION

Renal hypertension is arterial hypertension, the origination and clinical course of which is connected with kidney disease.

The magnetotherapy by ALMAG is an important part of the complex therapy directed to the decrease of arterial pressure up to normal digits (readings) and normalization of kidney function. The device should be applied under the supervision of the attending doctor or after consulting with an expert.

Procedure:

Position of the patient lying on a back. At first inductors are placed on the area of kidney and adrenal projection to the left and to the right of a backbone (see fig. 22). The exposure time on this zone is 10 minutes. Then the inductors are placed (removed) on a collar zone (see fig. 22). The time of exposure is 10-15 minutes. The maximum procedure time is 25 minutes. Procedures are carried out once a day. Course of treatment-18 procedures. After 6th and 12th procedures it is necessary to take 1 day break. During the course of treatment it is necessary to check arterial pressure before the procedure and 30 minutes after the procedure was done to check the treatment efficiency.

VEGETOVASCULAR DYSTONIA (VVD)

Vegetovascular dystonia is a disease that has many symptoms and many determinations. The basis of the disease lies in disturbances of the normal vegetative regulation of the activity of internal organs. The disturbances are rarely limited to only one organ or system. Therefore, even though these disturbances are rarely limited to just one area of the body’s internal organ system, they still may relate primarily to many or all organs in the body. In addition, almost all patients may exhibit neurological disorders, also weakness, rapid fatigue, irritability, headaches, etc. In addition to these symptoms, which can be expressed in varying degrees, many patients found to exhibit a “vegetative crises”, the cause of which is situational (for example, stress on the work) or in another manner (for example, by menses) the caused vegetative splash, which swiftly draws many systems of organism into its orbit and which possesses, which in turn causes a multiplicity and variety of manifestations. Typically, there are other, more frequent complaints about the shortness of breath, lack of oxygen, palpitation, shivering or trembling, chest discomfort, dizziness, nausea, change in gait, poor vision or hearing impairment, loss of speech or voice. Because the disease has so many manifestations, the only person who can give you a correct diagnosis and prescribe the right treatment can only be a licensed physician. Cardiovascular syndromes IRR are limited to the following causes: hypertension, hypotension and cardiac. The target for the application of TPMF of ALMAG is the first of the above listed – hypertonic. The main objective of use of the device ALMAG is normalization of the increased arterial pressure, the stimulation of the work of the adrenal glands (which are manufacturing hormones that regulate the metabolism), the restoration of vascular tone, the acceleration of the conductivity of nerve impulses from the spinal cord to the internal organs.

Procedure:

It’s only possible to begin the treatment after the abatement of acute vegetative crisis. Position of the patient at time of treatment lying on the back. Inductors are first applied to the kidney area and the area of the adrenal glands, also on the left and right of the spinal cord (see Fig. 22). Time of application 10 minutes. Then the inductors are moved to the collar zone (see Fig. 21). Time of application – 10-15 minutes. The maximum overall duration of the procedure should not exceed 25 minutes; the procedures are conducted once a day, course of total treatment – 18 procedures. The patient must take a 24 hour break after 6th and 12th procedures.

CORONARY HEART DISEASE WITH STABLE ANGINA

The concept of Coronary Heart Disease includes a group of diseases, caused from imbalance between myocardial oxygen demand and delivery. The basis of disease is atherosclerosis of the vessels of the heart – coronary arteries. Coronary heart disease includes diseases such as angina, myocardial infarction, postinfarction cardiosclerosis, heart failure and arrhythmia.

Stenocardia – short-term sensation of pressure, compression or burning above the breast bone, caused by transient ischemia of myocardium, one of the forms of the ischemic disease of heart. There are several distinguished l forms of this illness, one of which is called “stable angina” ( when duration of the disease is more than 1 month) is: The 1-st functional class – attacks only occur only during excessive physical exercise; 2-nd functional class – attacks occur when walking at a distances of more than 500 m, with the lift it is more than down one flight of stairs; 3-rd functional class – attacks occur while walking at a distances of more than 100-500 m, with a rise to one flight of stairs; 4-th functional class – is characterized by the attacks that occur even during rest.

The working classes of ALMAG’s operation on this disease is the stable angina of 1st and 2nd stages.

Predisposing factor to the development of Angina Pectoris is high cholesterol and the accompanying atherosclerosis, hypertension, smoking, diabetes, increased blood coagulability or heart disease.

In the treatment and prevention of Angina Pectoris a big role is not only played by the doctor, but also the patient himself – he must correctly evaluate his condition and symptoms, which appear with the first signs of Angina.

Acute angina is usually presented with pressure in chest, heaviness or burning sensation in the sternum. Pain caused by it might appear in the arm, the region of scapula the neck and the lower jaw. Angina attacks usually appear during a physical activity, eating or emotional stress. Duration of the attack lasts 2 to 5 minutes. Pain subsides after cessation of the activity causing it, or administering a medication called “nitroglycerine”.

These symptoms are usually reason enough to see a cardiologist, who will prescribe an adequate treatment after a gathering more information and examining the patient. The treatment target is improving the quality of patient’s life and prevention of complications such as myocardial infarction, arrhythmia and cardiac insufficiency.

The complex therapy of Stable Angina, which includes drug and magnetotherapy, gives it more expressed clinical effect than the application of these methods separately. Pulsating magnetotherapy by ALMAG is carried out only by a recommendation and under the supervision of the attending physician, during the regular and mandatory intake of regular drugs, systematic control of electrocardiogram and indicators of lipid metabolism

The purpose of ALMAG’s impact in the Collar Zone is to reduce the pressure in the deep and subcutaneous veins, arteries, with a simultaneous decrease in heart rate. One of the most valuable effects of ALMAG’s magnetic field impulse on the organism is the activation of metabolic processes (exchange) of carbohydrates and lipids, which gradually leads to reduction in blood cholesterol. As a result-the progression of the disease slows down. ALMAG’s magnetic pulse improves blood circulation by which providing an anaesthetizing effect. Under the influence of the magnetic field increases the biological activity of magnesium in the blood, which leads to a reduction in the development of pathological processes in the heart. The biological potency of magnesium process in blood gradually increases under ALMAG’s magnetic pulse field, which leads to a reduction in the development of pathological processes in the heart.

Procedure:

Position of patient during the time of the procedure – lying on his back. Inductors are placed on the collar zone (see Fig. 21). Time of procedure–10-15 minutes. Procedures are conducted one time a day, the course of treatment is 18 days. The patient must take a 24 hour break first after his 6th and the after his 12th procedures.

OBLITERATING ATHEROSCLEROSIS (ENDARTERITIS) OF THE BLOOD VESSELS OF LOWER EXTREMITIES

Atherosclerosis is the condition in which an artery wall thickens as the result of a build-up of fatty materials such as cholesterol. It is a syndrome affecting arterial blood vessels, a chronic inflammatory response in the walls of arteries, in large part due to the accumulation of macrophage white blood cells and promoted by low density (especially small particle) lipoproteins (plasma proteins that carry cholesterol and triglycerides) without adequate removal of fats and cholesterol from the macrophages by functional high density lipoproteins. The reasons for the development of atherosclerosis involve many external and internal factors, including hereditary. People who fall into the risk group are tobacco smokers and people who eat fatty, cholesterol-rich food for a long time . Factors that contribute to progression of the disease may vary and be specific to person’s organism , for example the low activity of enzymes produced by liver that destroy cholesterol.

Symptoms:

Patients exhibit symptoms of ischemia (insufficient blood supply) of extremities. First, the disease is manifested only during a physical activity by: emerging weakness and increased muscle fatigue, shivers and a feeling of chills in the lower extremities and later are joined by an unpleasant sensation to – numbness, temperature drop and pallor of the skin, pain. The disease doesn’t always affect both limbs symmetrically.

The pain may be of varying intensity, sometime observed even during rest; sometimes it is extremely agonizing and deprives the patient of sleep, or possibility of movement. The pain may subside for some time if the patient stops moving, since blood supply is restored, but will come back if the patient starts moving again. This clinical symptom is called the intermittent lameness. At early stages of the disease it is manifested comparatively rarely and only after prolonged walking but with the progression of the disease the pain appears every 300-400 feet of walking, which forces patient to periodically stop.

Curative effect:

Device ALMAG is recommended to use for prevention of atherosclerosis, obliterating endarteritis, as well as in the initial stages of the disease on the recommendation and under the supervision of a doctor. The magnetic field of ALMAG provides the anaesthetizing, anti-inflammatory effect, improves blood flow by increasing the clearance of the vessels, reducing wall thrombi. The great significance of magneto therapy is normalization of blood circulation in the microcirculatory bed system – the system of the smallest arteries, capillaries and veins, which provide metabolism in body and organ tissues, including blood vessels.

Special attention in use of the device for the prevention of the disease should be paid by people with diabetes, gout, psoriasis, hypertension, obesity, as well as those who are leading a low-mobility lifestyles and smokers.

In the process of treating Obliterating Endarteritis ALMAG is applied as a mandatory element of a complex therapy, which includes the medicine, diet, physical exercise and so on.

Procedure:

Inductors must be applied across the areas where blood vessels and nerves of the affected extremity are located: the first inductor to be installed just below the patella (knee cap), the last inductor – on the foot from above (see Fig. 23). Procedures can be carried out while in a seated position after fastening inductors on the extremity with the aid of racing struts. The normal time of the exposure is 10-15 minutes on one leg. The procedures are carried out 1 time a day on both legs and feet consistently. The course of treatment should not be less than 18 procedures. The patient should take a 24 hour break after 6th and 12 procedures.

During the course of the treatment of Obliterating Atherosclerosis, ALMAG may be fastened on the extremities with the aid of the elastic harnesses included in the kit in order to not put pressure on the tissue and not to interrupt the blood flow.

Due to the fact that the treatment of obliterating Atherosclerosis is long-term, it’s necessary to repeat the courses of magneto therapy every 30-40 days. Subsequent courses can be carried out with the range from 30 days to 3 months after the end of last course of the treatment.

PANCREATIC DIABETES COMPLICATIONS

DIABETIC ANGIOPATHY

Diabetic angiopathy is the vascular complication of prolongedly elapsing uncompensated diabetes mellitus and disturbances of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism associated with it. Pathology is developed in both insulin-dependent and non-insulin-dependent form of diabetes mellitus. The primary localization of lesion is lower extremities. Methods of destruction – from a weakly expressed trophic disorders to trophic ulcers and diabetic foot gangrene, which leads to the amputation of the limb.

ALMAG is used as required part of the complex therapy of angiopathy in the pre-gangrene period. The magnetic field of ALMAG provides an anaesthetizing, anti-spasmodic effect, a beneficial effect on carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolisms, improves the collateral blood circulation (collateral – this the lateral vessel, which achieves the roundabout blood stream, passing the stopped up vessel).

Procedure:

Area of the foot affected by diabetic angiopathy of the vessels is wrapped around by ALMAG starting at the rear of the foot (see Fig. № 24). The first inductor is placed closed to the knee, the last one on the foot itself. This procedure should be performed twice a day.

In case of vascular lesion of the thigh segment, the procedure with ALMAG is carried out once a day with the procedure beginning on the front-inner surface of the thigh, then on the lower leg (shin) (see Fig. 24).

If the Disease has affected vessels throughout the entire length of lower extremity, inductors are placed on the affected area, alternately (see description above), not forgetting about the correct location of the inductors – the first is closer to the torso, the last – to the foot. The most optimal position for the procedure -is while the patient is lying on his back. Sitting position can be used as an option.

During the course of the treatment of diabetic angiopathy, Almag may be fixed on the body with the aid of a finite elastic harnesses, included in the kit so the blood vessels and tissues are not constricted and the blood flow is not interrupted.

Attention! The application of ALMAG is an integral part of a complex therapy of Diabetic Angiopathy, and is conducted by appointment and under supervision of a doctor. During the treatment the control of blood glucose and lipids, as well as the consultation with Endocrinologist – are required! A Doppler scan of lower extremity, vascular and cardiovascular surgery consultation is needed with sudden changed prior to the start of treatment.

DIABETIC NEUROPATHY

Diabetic Neuropathy is complication of diabetes mellitus, with damage of peripheral nervous system.

Patients with diabetic neuropathy exhibit a variety of diverse symptoms, which may occur separately or together:

-the sensation of cold in the feet;

-the loss of sensitivity and numbness, which is especially noticeable, if the skin on the shins and thighs is rubbed by palm or by sponge (while taking a bath);

– burning, discomfort, which arises from touching clothes or bed linen (manifested most frequently at night);

– the sudden severe numbness of feet;

– muscle atrophy;

– poor healing of scratches, wounds – month or two instead of one-two weeks, moreover the no vanishing dark tracks remain after healing;

– severe pains in the lower leg – during rest, at night.

ALMAG is used as a part of complex therapy, primarily directed at the core of the disease. The influence of a magnetic field improves the conductivity of nervous impulses in nerve fibers, which contributes to restore the functions of the affected peripheral nerve endings. Because of the reduction of the pain threshold, the pain syndrome, frequently agonizing for the patient also subsides. Microcirculation also improves in areas affected by ALMAG’s coil inductors, which normalizes metabolic processes in the peripheral nerve endings and around them. All this, in combination with the drug therapy inhibits the progression of the disease, by which improves the quality of life of the patient.

Procedure:

The desirable position of the patient while conducting the procedure is lying on his stomach or sitting up. Inductors are places on two fields:

Procedures carried out one time in a 24 hour period, and are recommended to be performed at night. Exposure time for each zone – 15 minutes. Total time of exposure – 30 minutes. Because Neuropathy usually occurs on both lower extremities, procedures by ALMAG are carried out alternately, 1 time a day. The course of treatment is 20 days and should be repeated after 2 months. Supplemental magneto-therapy courses should be performed 3-4 times a year.

Attention! It’s an absolute must to consult an endocrinologist during treatment and control the level of blood glucose and lipids.

DERMATOLOGICAL DISEASES

PRURITIC DERMATOSIS

Anyone and everyone face a potential allergic reaction to food or medication, an uncommon reaction to household chemicals, including synthetic clothing, cosmetic etc, and professional environment. It’s estimated, that on the average about 10% of the world’s population suffers from allergic diseases (one of which is Neurodermatitis) and the number is expected to further increase.

The reasons for allergies are particles called “allergens”, particles that are capable of increasing the sensitivity of the organism.

Allergens are commonly divided into two groups: exo allergens (allergens, originating from the environment) and the endo allergens (or auto allergens), which are formed in the body due to metabolic disorders, dysbacteriosis. In addition to the above listed reasons, disruption of a normal functional of various divisions of the nervous systems plays an important role in occurrence of neurodermatitis in adults.

The duration of disease lasts decades. There are two forms of Neurodermatitis. In case of Limited Neurodermatitis, the disease is localized predominantly on the neck, cubital bends and inguinal- femoral folds. In Diffuse Neurodermatitis any part of skin may be affected. The affected area of the skin may be covered in scales, blood crusts and cracks. Color knots of the skin tone are typical for both forms of the disease. They have a tendency to confluence and formation of continuous infiltration. Sharp, sometimes unbearable itch with the scratching, which frequently leaves small hems is also typical.

Procedures:

Recommended course of the procedure with ALMAG: the impact of ALMAG is conducted not only in the affected area of the skin, but also on parts of the spinal cord that are innervating the affected skin areas. Time of use on the affected section of the skin and the spine is 10 minutes each. It’s possible to treat 4 parts of body at once, but in this case the time is limited to 5 minutes per part being treated. The total time for all affected areas treated should not exceed 30 minutes per 24 hour period.

CONDITIONS AFTER PLASTIC SURGERIES

The application of the ALMAG’s magnetic field is a valuable component of the rehabilitative period after plastic surgeries. ALMAG’s impact on the region of the suture contributes to more rapid shaping of elastic suture and reduction in the risk of an onset of complications. The procedures are conducted 3 days after the surgery. Procedures may also be conducted on the postoperative wounds.

CHRONIC UNSPECIFIC LUNGS DISEASE

CHRONIC BRONCHITIS

Chronic bronchitis – a long-term ongoing disease, characterized by irreversible destruction of all large, medium and small bronchi. Chronic Bronchitis can usually be diagnosed if the cough lasts for at least 3 months of the year. Chronic bronchitis is related to long-term irritation of mucous membrane of bronchi by various harmful factors (smoking, inhalation of air contaminated with dust, fumes, oxides of carbon, sulfur, nitrogen and other chemicals), and provoked by respiratory infections. Negative role is played by the upper respiratory tract pathology. A hereditary predisposition is also noted.

Symptoms:

cough in the morning with mucous phlegm, which gradually begins to disturb during the night and day increasing in the cold and wet weather. It becomes permanent over the years. Sputum mucosa, during periods of exacerbation – posy mucous. Patient develops a shortness of breath and it shortly begins to progress. There are simple uncomplicated forms of chronic bronchitis, purulent and purulent-obstructive. For the last condition persistent violations of air passing bronchitis due to spasm and edema of the mucous membrane is common.

Treatment:

During the period of aggravation of the disease substances, which thin the mucus, antibiotics, expectorants and plenty of fluids are usually prescribed. Respiratory exercises, physical therapy treatment (inhalations, electrophoresis, magneto therapy, etc.) are the main part of the treatment. ALMAG’s Magneto-therapy and inhalations are widely used at home. The goal of treating by the Running Pulsating Magnetic Field: is to enhance the microcirculation in the lung, including bronchial tree, the surrounding it tissue, to improve release of the sputum and stimulate the regeneration of the bronchial tree.

Procedure:

The treatment by ALMAG should begin at the period of the calming or aggravation period for the purpose of prevention. Exposure is carried out in the area of the bronchi (Fig. 26) – ALMAG, on the elastic connection between the second and third inductor, it is bent at angle of 90°, patient lies down on it so that apparatus it is located between the scapula’s. Procedures are performed 2 times a day for 10-15 minutes.

Course of the treatment is 10 days. In the case of chronic bronchitis the course of treatment can be increased to 18 days.

CHRONIC PNEUMONIA

Chronic pneumonia is a recurrent inflammation of the lungs of the same repetitive localization with damage to all structural pulmonary elements. The factors of risk include: chronic bronchitis, frequent acute respiratory viral diseases, immunodeficient states, and the effect of unfavorable environmental factors.

Symptoms:

Injuries are manifested by a periodic increase in the temperature of body usually up to subfebrile numbers, by strengthening lasting cough with the liberation of mucopurulent mucus, sweating, frequent dull chest pain on the side of the inflammation. During the auscultation rigid respiration is heard, moist bubbling rales. With the connection of chronic bronchitis and emphysema of lungs shortness of breath appears. Treatment during the period of the aggravation is conducted as with sharp pneumonia. Out of the phase of aggravation by patient are shown the therapeutic exercise, sanitation and health treatment.

Purpose of treatment by the running pulse magnetic field: to strengthen microcirculation before the pulmonary, including bronchial tree, tissues, to improve the departure of mucus, to stimulate regeneration and to stop the injury of bronchial tree.

Procedure:

Treatment with ALMAG should start during the period calming of the exacerbation or before the symptom-free period to prevent the exacerbation. The procedure is conducted at the region of bronchi and lungs (Fig. 26) – ALMAG’s applicator is bent at angle of 900 on the elastic connection between the second and third inductor, patient lies down on it so that apparatus it is arranged between the scapula’s. Procedures are conducted 2 times a day for 10-15 minutes at a time. Course of the treatment is 18-20 days. Relapse-preventing course of treatment is 10 days.

BRONCHIAL ASTHMA

Bronchial asthma – a chronic disorder with recurrent attacks of suffocation or asthmatic status due to bronchial spasm, edema of their mucous and increased secretion of bronchial mucus. The nonspecific allergens provoke the spasm of bronchi: pollen (pollen of flowers, field grasses, trees), dust (household dust, the cat fur, dog fur, etc.), food (eggs, citrus fruits, fish, milk and other), medicinal (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.), mechanical and chemical substances (metallic, wood, silicate, cottony dust, vapors of acids, alkalis, smokes), physical and weather factors (change in the temperature and the humidity of air, fluctuations of barometric pressure, the earth’s magnetic field and others), the allergens of mites, insects, animals, neuropsychic actions. The base of the disease – hereditary, congenital and (or) acquired defects of the sensitivity of bronchi.

Symptoms and course of treatment:

the secreted infectious-allergic and atopic bronchial asthma with the attacks of asthma of different intensity, between which the state of patients can be satisfactory. Attack can begin for the sake of the abundant liberation of fluid from the nose, of the irrepressible cough, hindered by the departure of mucus, even by shortness of breath. Inhalation – short, exhalation – hindered, slow and convulsive, accompanied by loud, sibilant wheezes that can be heard from a distance. Patient assumes a forced position for alleviating the respiration. Face is puffy, pale. Pulse is accelerated. The insensitivity to the bronchodilating therapy increases with the asthmatic state (status), cough is unproductive.

The Status may arise with the severe allergy or the overdose of sympathomimetic drugs (asthma inhalers of Berotec, Astmopent, Alupent etc.), to the sharp cancellation of glucocorticoids. Diagnosis is based on a typical attack of asthma with the difficult expiration, an increase in number of eosinophilic leukocytes in blood and sputum, and of allergological examination (conducting allergological tests, study of immunoglobulin’s).

Curative effect:

The main purpose of the treatment by ALMAG is to provide an anti-inflammatory effect, to strengthen microcirculation in the pulmonary tissue, including bronchial tree and improve the release of sputum.

Procedure should begin after the attack, or at a symptom-free period. It’s performed at the region of the lungs for 15 minutes (see Fig. 26) and the region of the adrenal glands for 10 minutes (see Fig. 22). Procedures are conducted 1 time a day. Course of the treatment is 18-20 days.

DISEASES OF THE GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT

SUBACUTE AND CHRONIC PANCRIATITIS

Chronic pancreatitis is an inflammatory disease of the pancreas, which leads to the progressive reduction in functions of external and internal secretion.

The factors of risk, which lead to the development of this disease include alcoholism, diseases of bile tracts, stomach and duodenum, toxic substances-chemical substances, including medications and malnourishment.

Since the development of diabetes mellitus can be the complication of the disease, relation to the disease must be the most serious. Things prescribed during the period of the aggravation of the disease:

-Hungry diet of with the use of mineral waters;

-Anticonvulsants, antibiotics for prevention of the development of a secondary infectious disease, proteolytic enzyme inhibiters.

– Pancreatic enzymes.

During the remission the following drugs and procedures are prescribed:

– the diet;

– Pancreatic increase enzymes, vitamin therapy;

– Physical therapy procedures.

Procedure.

Treatment with ALMAG should start during the calming period of the exacerbation or before the symptom-free period in order to prevent the exacerbation. The procedure is performed in the region of the pancreas (Fig. 27) 1 hour prior to eating or 2 hours after a meal. Normal time for this procedure is 15 minutes. Procedures should be performed 2 times a day. Course of treatment is 18 days.

BILIARY DYSKINESIA

Biliary dyskinesia – functional disturbances of the motor activity of gall bladder and bile ducts as a result of the uncoordinated, late, insufficient either excessive contraction of gall bladder or sphincter.

In the very mechanism of these disturbances the leading role belongs to changes in the nerve- vegetative innervation and secretory function of the digestive tract. Besides vegetovascular dystonia, the development of dyskinesia of the bile-secreting ways they play the role of the disturbance of the regime of feeding, disease of other organs of the digestive tract. The disturbance of the emptying of gall bladder leads down to congestion of the bile and change in its physical chemistry properties and development of gallstone disease.

Symptoms:

as a rule, patients complain about the nagging, dull pain in the right subcostal area, called “the dyspeptic phenomena”- reduction in the appetite, eructation, nausea, bitterness before the mouth, swelling in stomach.

An important part in treatment of dyskinetic disorders is diet therapy: the exception of fatty, fried, sharp foods, meat and fish soups, smoked foods, chocolate and ice cream.

The goal of treatment by ALMAG’s running pulse field: to provide and provide an anaesthetizing, anti-inflammatory and spasmolytic effect.

Procedure:

ALMAG treatment begins at the period of the calming of exacerbation of the disease, or before the exacerbation of the disease period for the purpose of preventing of the complications of the disease. The procedure is conducted at the region of the liver and gall bladder (Fig. 28).

Treatment should be performed after 1-2 hours after the last meal. Time of procedure is 15 minutes. Procedures are conducted 2 times a day. Course of treatment is 18 days.

CHRONIC GASTRITIS

Chronic gastritis is disease of the stomach, which is manifested by a prolonged inflammation of the stomach lining. Course is undulating in the form of aggravations and prolonged remissions.

Symptoms:

The manifestations of gastritis at the period of aggravation depend on the acidity in the stomach. With the secretory insufficiency predominantly severity and the dull pains under the abdominal, a feeling of being “too full” after a meal, nausea, vomiting, eructation are more frequently filled with air. Because of the stomachic discomfort most patients limit their food intake, which leads to weight loss. Diarrhea is also troublesome during gastritis with paste-like feces, but without any mucus and blood. During the palpation of stomach the moderate pain in the epigastric region is common. Gastritis with normal or increased acidity in essence is encountered mostly at young age. Besides the painful syndrome the following symptoms are noted as well: the heartburn after a meal, acidy eructation, constipation, tongue is covered in an abundant white coating. If Gastritis is accompanied by duodenitis, or peptic ulcer, then the complaints of patients are somewhat different.

Therapeutic effect of chronic gastritis is performed by correction of diet, normalization of stomachic secretion, correction of the disturbances of the motor function of stomach and treatment of an infection that might have occurred. physical therapy procedures are assigned at the period of the abatement of the aggravation and the period of remission, including ALMAG therapy. The clinical application of ALMAG has even some advantages in comparison with the stationary physical therapy technology, since it makes it possible to carry to perform the procedures at home (obviously if recommended by doctor)

Therapeutic effect of ALMAG treatment is to provide an anaesthetizing, anti-inflammatory effect, to strengthen microcirculation in the stomach lining and to accelerate the healing processes.

Procedure:

the region of the main digestive tract of the stomach (Fig. 27). Treatment itself should be conducted 1 hour prior to a meal or 2 hours after a food intake. Time of the procedure is 15 minutes. Procedures are conducted 2 times a day. Course of full treatment is 18 days.

STOMACH AND PEPTIC ULCERS

Peptic and other ulcers are the most common diseases of the digestive tract, 50% of patients of the gastroenterological departments in the hospital account for patients with the ulcerous injuries of stomach or duodenum. As an independent chronic disease, it is developed as a result of disruption of the equilibrium between the activity of gastric juice and the protective capabilities of mucous.

The clinical picture of disease is characterized by pain in the epigastrium immediately or sometime after eating, depending on the localization of lesions. Patients concerned about dyspeptic phenomena – air belching, nausea, heartburn, constipation. A treatment by ALMAG, as part of an integrated treatment, is recommended during calming of the exacerbation and remission phase.

Therapeutic effect by ALMAG, together during the therapy of the aggravation of the ulcer, is to blocks nerve impulses from the pain area and causes the anaesthetizing effect, trophic influence beyond the vessels and internal organs in the region of application, decreases inflammation and stimulates metabolism and regeneration of tissues.

Procedure

is performed at the area of the stomach or duodenum and on a region of epigastrium (Fig. 27). Treatment should be performed 1 hour prior to eating or 2 hours after a meal. Time of the procedure is 15 minutes. Procedures are conducted 2 times a day. Recommended course of treatment is 18 days.

DISEASES OF FEMALE GENITALS

INFLAMMATORY DISEASES OF UTERUS AND APPENDAGES

The inflammatory diseases of female sex organs, amongst other gynecological diseases, occupy the very first place as by the frequency but also by the severity of the caused disorders.

Disease aftereffects: uterine bleeding, whites, pain in the sacrum and lower abdomen with irradiation in the legs. The groups of inflammatory diseases of female genital organs are the vaginitis, endometritis, salpingitis, adnexitis and many others.

The cause of the inflammatory gynecological diseases may be a variety of microorganisms, but the further development of the process depends on the response of the patient’s body. To obtain adequate therapeutic effect the treatment should always be directed onto the entire organism as a whole, in other words, treatment must never be localized to just one area or an organ.

The principal of substances and methods of therapy, used for treating the patients with chronic inflammatory diseases, can be combined in 4 groups: pharmacological, physical therapy, biological and surgical.

The physical therapy methods of treatment include including the application of ALMAG.

The purpose of treatment with ALMAG at the period of the abatement of exacerbation and at the phase of the remission is to cause an anti-inflammatory, anaesthetizing effect, improve the hemodynamics of the organs of small pelvis, and stimulate the metabolic processes and to increase in the immunobiologic reactivity of organism.

Procedure:

is carried out by applying ALMAG on female sex organ locations (Fig. 29). Time of an application is 15 minutes. Procedures are conducted 2 times a day 18 days.

Attention! The treatment of gynecological diseases by ALMAG is restricted and highly not recommended during a menstruating period!

DISEASES, CAUSED BY OVARIAN HYPOFUNCTION

Hypo-menstrual syndrome, a cause of which might be ovarian hypofunction, relates to diseases caused by ovarian hypofunction, which is possible to be treated by ALMAG. The cause of the disease might also be infantilism, acute and chronic infections, disruption of the endocrine glands, vitamin deficiency and some others. the majority of the cases hypo-menstrual syndrome occur during puberty and menopause.

There are two kinds of hypo-menstrual syndrome-a primary and a secondary one. Primary hypo-menstrual syndrome is when the menstruation is rare and scarce since the puberty, which is cause by reduced function of ovaries along with the general infantilism. Secondary hypo-menstrual syndrome is when it is developed after the certain period of normal menses, as a result of an inflammatory diseases, chronic infections or intoxications.

The treatment of the hypo-menstrual syndrome is only performed when there are neurovegetative disturbances, especially with the hormonal sterility. Hormonal drug and balanced diet are usually prescribed, proper rotation of labor and rest is recommended, physical therapy procedures for the normalization of the function of endocrine apparatus is almost always necessary.

Therapy effect:

Creating favorable conditions for the ovaries function by improving the microcirculation and metabolic processes inside them.

ATTENTION! The application of ALMAG is not recommended (forbidden) during menses!

Procedure:

Action is conducted at the region of ovaries for 15 minutes and the collar zone for 10 minutes. Course of treatment is 18-20 minutes. It’s necessary to repeat the treatment every 2 months thereafter.

Post C-section conditions

The application of ALMAG together with a complex therapy is used for the purpose of the speeding-up the rehabilitation of a woman after cesarean. The use of ALMAG on the region of surgical sutures and the region of uterus helps to develop a more rapid correct shaping of an elastic suture, sub-involution of uterus and lower the risk of possible complications.

The application is performed 3 days after surgery in the same manner as treatment of the post-surgical wounds.

DISEASES OF THE VENOUS SYSTEM OF THE UPPER AND LOWER EXTREMITIES

DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS

Deep vein thrombosis is manifested by a feeling of heaviness in legs, sharp pains and the edema of the shin.

The predisposing factors leading to development of this illness are traumata, changes in blood coagulability, venous blood stagnation caused by varicose disease of excess weight.

Symptoms:

In addition to pain, a sense of heaviness and edema during the course of the disease together with thrombotic complications are a big discomfort for a patient. The most frequent complication of vein thrombosis is thrombophlebitis – inflammation of veins.

Devices curative effect: ALMAG’s TPEMF contributes to reducing the blood coagulation in places where normally it’s very high due to thrombosis. Besides that, it also helps to improve the circulation and to increase in the permeability of vascular walls. All this therapy leads to a dissolvent of the clot, reduction of swelling, pain, also contributes to prevention of thrombophlebitis.

Procedure:

Treatment is recommended to be performed once a day (if both limbs are affected), and twice a day on only one part of the body affected by the disease.

The best result is achieved by placing ALMAG on the location of the veins (Fig. 30). In this particular case the first inductor (applicator) is placed closer to the foot, and the fourth – closer to the knee or down the knee cap itself. Time of treatment is 10-15 minutes. The total course of treatment should not be less than 18 days. The course should be repeated after 2 months of the initial treatment.

The combined treatment by ALMAG and doctor prescribed ointments, which contain heparin and anti-inflammatory agents, the effectiveness of the conducted therapy increases dramatically.

VARICOSE DISEASE OF THE VEINS

Varicose veins disease is an expansion of the veins, cause by weakening of the valves and the cardio-vascular system.

Symptoms:

The predisposing factors for the development of this disease are the congenital weakness of the vascular wall, pregnancy, excessive body mass, a prolonged standing during heavy labor, hard physical labor. The onset of the varicose disease is related to the injury of the vessels and thrombophlebitis.

There are several stages of varicose disease. During the “compensation stage” patients only complain about the cosmetic part of the disease, the marks and tracks cause by expanded veins on their body. The sub-compensation begins during the progression of disease. At this stage patients complain about edemas in feet and ankle region, fatigue and “the bursting open” of shin muscles, spasm and cramps during the night. In the third, “decompensation” stage, inflammations acquire are persistent in nature, veins widened sharply, patients frequently complain of sharp pains and spasms in the gastrocnemius muscles. The complications, which can appear both in sub and decompensation stages are: thrombophlebitis, trophic ulcers, infectious injuries of the skin and many more.

Treatment:

ALMAG-01 treatment is possible and highly favorable in all three stages by a recommendation of the doctor. Purpose of the treatment is to increase the capillary blood flow, improvement in the contractile ability of vascular wall and the decrease of sizes of the varicose extended veins, especially during the first stage of the disease. ALMAG makes it possible to not allow the development of pain syndrome and cramps. Improvement of microcirculation leads to the acceleration of metabolic processes, which contributes to the healing of trophic ulcers. Reduced blood coagulability by the action of alternating magnetic field helps to prevent thrombophlebitis.

Procedure:

Treatment is recommended to be performed once a day on each affected limb, or twice if only one is affected. A full effect of the therapy can be achieved by placing ALMAG along the veins (Fig. 30). The first inductor is established closer to the foot, and the fourth – is closest to the knee or down the knee cap.

Time of procedure is 10-15 minutes. The course of treatment should not be less than 18 days. It’s highly recommended to repeat the treatment after a 2 month break. During the complex therapy and ointments (strictly by a recommendation of doctor) that contain heparin and antipyretic ingredients, the effectiveness of the conducted therapy increases dramatically.
